The fifth edition of “StatisticAll – Festival della Statistica e della Demografia” will take place in Treviso on 20-22 September 2019.

The theme of the Festival is “Numeri per oggi. Numeri per il futuro”.

The Festival can be followed on social media using the hashtag: #StatisticAll.
All the events of the Festival are free, but for some of these a pre-registration may be required.

“In honour of Vijay’s spirit for Life and for Work”


Laura Neri, Gianni Betti, Giulio Ghellini, Achille Lemmi, members of the Centre, are glad to announce that the Department of  Political Economy and Statistics of University of Siena, annunciano che il Dipartimento di Economia Politica e Statistica, togheter with Miss Gillian Verma, organize a Workshop in memory of Prof. Vijay Verma on 20 and 21 September 2019 (https://www.deps.unisi.it/it/eventi/workshop-honour-vijays-spirit-life-and-work).

Vijay, Hemeritus Fellow of the Centre Dagum, had chosen Siena and the Department of  Political Economy and Statistics to spend the maturity of his life, continuing his high scientific research work within a group of friends, colleagues, students with whom had shared interests and skills. Moreover, his choice was dictated  by the environment, the culture and the serenity of this city.

The Workshop will be held during the afternoon of 20 September and the morning of 21 September. The aim is twofold: remember the scientific contribution of Vijay and retrace his splendid life as a scientist and free man.

Pratesi et. al. – Small area poverty indicators adjusted using local price indexes

This work is partially funded by the project MAKSWELL and it is inside the Agreement “Avanzamenti metodologici nella stima per piccole aree di indicatori di povertà e di condizioni di vita” between the Centre ASESD Camilo Dagum and ISTAT.

L’evento si terrà nella suggestiva Aula Savi presso l’Orto Botanico di Pisa in Via Porta Buozzi, 3, 56126 Pisa PI, Italia ed avrà inizio alle 17.30 e durerà fino alle 20:00. A partire dalle 18.00, sarà possibile effettuare l’aperitivo.

L’evento è aperto a tutti gli interessati ed è gratuito.

Inside the activities of the Jean Monnet Chair “Small Area methods for Multidimensional Poverty and living conditions Indicators in EU – SAMPIEU” (Chair holder Prof. Monica Pratesi) and in close collaboration with the Centre ASESD Camilo Dagum, the Emeritus Professor Prasada Rao (University of Queensland, School of Economics) will give two Seminars titled  “PPP methodologies (ICP program) and their implications for the measurement of poverty, and inequality in health and income”.

Within the Conference on New Techniques and Technologies for official Statistics (NTTS 2019) which will take place in Brussels  from 12 to 14 March 2019 the second workshop of MAKSWELL project has been included as satellite event on 15 March 2019.
