Gaia Bertarelli is tenure-track Assistant Professor in Social Statistics at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
Her research areas include SAE methods, robust statistics, latent variable models, multidimensional composite indicators, and data integration techniques. The main applications of her research focus on the multidimensional aspects of poverty, inequalities, and sustainable well-being.
She has collaborated with the Istat on several projects aimed at the methodological and practical development of SAE models in official statistics, and on defining and measuring multidimensional educational poverty. In 2019–20, she served as a national council member and coordinator of y-SIS. For the 2024–25 term, she is an elected member of the S2G group, the SIS group on “Methodologies for Sample Surveys.”
