MAPPE (Metodi di stimA per Piccole aree per la Povertà Educativa)
Time Period | January 2024 - December 2025
Objective
Cascading Call for National Recovery and Resilience Plan
The MAPPE project aims to develop Small Area Estimation (SAE) methods to produce reliable indicators of Educational Poverty (EP) at both local levels and across socioeconomic and demographic domains, including those not explicitly represented in the sampling designs of the surveys used to define EP.
This will make it possible to identify the most critical geographic areas for targeted interventions, as well as highlight inequalities related to gender or age, thereby providing tools to design more focused and effective policies.
Furthermore, the project seeks to develop new causal inference approaches within the SAE framework, with the goal of more accurately assessing the effectiveness of public policies at the local level and for specific population groups.
