Monica Pratesi (Ph.D. in Applied Statistics) is Full Professor of Statistics at the University of Pisa, where she has held two Jean Monnet Chairs and has directed the Camilo Dagum Centre since 2015. She is a Board Member of the National Ph.D.Program in Artificial Intelligence (AI for Society) and a member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI).
Her research focuses on survey methodology, poverty statistics, and citizen science, and she has extensive experience in international research and consulting.
She served as President of the International Association of Survey Statisticians (IASS) and was recently awarded the Order of the Cherubino by the University of Pisa.
From 2022 to 2024, she was on leave to serve as Director of the Department for Statistical Production at Istat, where she coordinated national statistical production.
